The Emerging Farmers Conference is focused on farmers and the content is led by farmers. It is for farmers who traditionally face barriers (including immigrant farmers and farmers of color) to the education and resources needed to have a successful and sustainable farm enterprise.
Here is the link to submit a session!
Do you have a session you'd like to share at the conference? Would you like to work with the EFC planning team to put together a presentation? Do you have experiences to share that will help other emerging farmers become successful? We invite you to submit a proposal for a session. As a conference, we prioritize sessions led by emerging farmers, immigrants, indigenous and farmers of color. We look for sessions that are either led by farmers or co-presented with farmers. The style of learning preferred is hands-on, demonstrations, visual and observation based.
Conference Dates:
Friday November 7- Saturday Nov 8, 2025 - Brooklyn Center, MN
Session types:
Friday Farm School: 4 hour hands-on intensive workshop with multiple presenters
Saturday Session: 1.5 hour session, with typically more than one presenter
Round Table Topic: 1 hour long informal conversation around a specific topic
The deadline to submit proposals is Monday March 10, 2025
Proposals will be compiled and reviewed by the EFC Planning Committee and ranked by 2024 Emerging Farmers Conference Attendees. Proposals that are selected will need to have presenters who are accessible and responsive to the EFC content committee from April-November, 2025.
If you or someone you know would like to propose a session and needs translation assistance, please contact Big River Farms at (651) 529-1409. Proposals are also welcome in audio and video format.
