Big River Farms Grower Training Program

Big River Farms is now taking applications for our Grower Training program for the 2025 season.

Our Grower Training program is intended to help participants learn about organic vegetable production, build production skills, and get practice growing and selling produce.  Apply by November 8th, 2024.  Trainees will take classes in January and February, and in-field classes in March-October while working in a communal plot that is led by a staff member.  The cost for this program will be $800 for the whole season and the time commitment will be around 8-10 hours/week.  Trainees can then apply for their own plot for their second year in the program, and grow on our land and have access to our shared infrastructure (pack shed, tool library, cooler, greenhouse).

Applicants with more experience can start with their own plot in their first year in our Incubator Farmer program.

We are accepting applications until November 8th.  The application is posted on our website, but we can also take applications at our main email: bigriverfarms@thefoodgroupmn.org

Please share with anyone in your network who is interested in learning more about food production and agriculture!  I am happy to answer any questions about the program.
