The Good Acre LEAFF Program Applications are Open

The Good Acre is a nonprofit food hub dedicated to unlocking economic opportunities for farmers. The Local Economic Accelerator for Farmers (LEAFF) program is a state-supported farm business accelerator that helps farmers with limited land and market access build a strong foundation for wholesale success. LEAFF provides farmers with a reliable market while ensuring fresh produce reaches food shelves across Minnesota. Apply by February 26, 2025.

If you are a specialty crop (vegetable) farmer looking to grow your business and access wholesale markets, we encourage you to apply each year. Even if you’ve participated in LEAFF before, reapplying lets us know you’re interested in continuing with the program. Please note that farmers that already have a wholesale contract with The Good Acre are not eligible for LEAFF, as risk management is already build into your contract.

Unlike traditional relief programs, LEAFF is structured as a multi-level wholesale readiness program, designed to help farmers progress toward long-term market access and business sustainability. Program capacity depends on available funding. If you’d like to support with advocacy for LEAFF in the state legislature this year, please click here

Please submit your application before the deadline of Wednesday, February 26th. You will be notified no later than Friday March 7th if you are accepted into the program. If you have questions about the program or application, please reach out to Josh at josh@thegoodacre.org.
