In a recent Minnesota State Register, MDA announced the availability of contracts for a farm advocate for the period of August 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Apply by July 31, 2024.
Applicants must be familiar with or experienced in:- farm financial planning (cash flows through financial statements);
- be knowledgeable of farmers' borrowers' rights and responsibilities with the ability to comprehend state and federal rules and regulations governing agricultural credit;
- have good communication skills (written, oral and listening); and
- have compassion for and interest in helping farmers.
Preference will be given to applicants with a farm background and competencies and skills to reach emerging farmers, such as speaking a language other than English. Rate of pay will be $26.75 / hour with a maximum of 140 hours possible per month.
