PhD Scholarship in Agricultural Safety & Health

Four year, Teagasc Walsh Scholarship PhD Opportunity. We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate who is interested in learning how farm families adapt following a serious injury and what types of supports are required.

There is, understandably, a significant focus on fatal and non-fatal farm injuries, how they happen, the characteristics of the victims and learning how they can be prevented. But what about the people and families that pick up the pieces following serious accidents and injuries?

The student will be supervised by David MeredithTeagasc, and @Sinead Flannery, UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. They will also be supported by a wider advisory panel including Embrace FARM and @Erika Scott, The Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (New York).
