Volunteer Supervisor Training with Great River Greening

 Great River Greening will host 2 training opportunities February, 2025 for all environmental stewards who would like to be volunteer leaders at our public restoration events. Our Volunteer Supervisors provide support and leadership at our volunteer and youth events. The volunteer supervisor will lead a group of 5-15 volunteers at GRG events. One training every 2 years is all we ask of you! Our trainings for Spring 2025 will be on February 18 (in person) and February 20 (virtual).

 

Volunteer Supervisor responsibilities include: 

  • arriving early to each event for an orientation 
  • motivating and inspiring volunteers 
  • keeping the group on schedule 
  • educating volunteers on the work they are doing and why they are doing it  
  • Demonstrating proper tool use and other relevant techniques. 

Who should join? 

  • Anyone interested in gaining leadership experience who is 17 years old or older. 
  • Anyone passionate about the environment and natural resources protection 
  • Teachers, students, master naturalists, gardeners, birders, no matter what your passion, you have something to contribute to stewardship development
