This St. Paul campus-based position will oversee a portfolio of projects, supervise staff and collaborate with Regional Executive Directors, staff and interdisciplinary teams. The role is key to building robust community-University partnerships that promote sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems across Minnesota.
Over the years, this position has played a pivotal role in launching and leading initiatives such as deep winter greenhouses, emerging crop supply chains (including garlic, hazelnuts, and Kernza®!), rural grocery strategies and on-farm food safety education. Building on this foundation, the next sustainable ag and food system director will expand these efforts and lead new initiatives that evolve from rural community innovations and needs.
