The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offers technical and financial assistance to support farmers in implementing conservation practices on farms across the country. In years past, application deadlines for financial assistance programs have varied by state but NRCS has simplified this process by setting one national deadline of January 15, 2026 for most programs.
January 15th is the national deadline for participating in the following programs:
- Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP),
- Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP),
- Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), and
- Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA).
- This includes NRCS’ new Regenerative Pilot Program, which provides targeted assistance through EQIP and CSP.
The Regenerative Pilot Program is a new opportunity which provides assistance for whole farm assessment, soil testing, and the implementation of regenerative management practices, which can support organic farms in meeting their conservation goals while meeting organic standards. NRCS is investing $700 million in this initiative to further its mission of helping people help the land.
If you are interested in applying, don’t wait! Reach out to your local NRCS office to get started!
