We are hiring a Pesticide Outreach Coordinator (Job ID 92626) at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in the Pesticide Technical Unit. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of St. Paul, MN, and may be eligible for telework.
We are looking for someone with a graduate degree (MSc or PhD) who understands pesticide use practices and related environmental and human health issues. The ideal candidate will also have exceptional communication skills and demonstrated experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating outreach programs.
The Pesticide Technical Unit works on topics related to the sale and use of pesticides in Minnesota and the human and environmental risks of pesticides. The unit connects scientific research with operational decisions and policies, for example, by evaluating detections of pesticides in water to provide a scientific basis for agency decisions. The unit also plays a key outreach role, engaging directly with pesticide users to explain changing laws and regulations, specific risks to human health and the environment from pesticide use, and best practices to help prevent and mitigate these risks.
