Volunteer at FEAST Local Foods Marketplace

 As many of you know, we have another opportunity to offer to advance local foods, and now I’m writing to invite you to be a part of FEAST Local Foods Marketplace in Rochester at the Mayo Civic Center on Saturday, November 1st, 10-4pm as a volunteer or an attendee.

If you don’t know FEAST and are into local foods, you should come! It’s the biggest local foods marketplace in the region, featuring nearly 100 farmers, food makers (sweets, cheeses, coffee, sauces, spices, etc) and drink makers (local spirits, wineries, breweries and cideries) - all from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, and all in one room! Last year, nearly 1500 people came from all over the region to sample and purchase products while connecting with the farmers and makers who bring them to life. It’s such a great atmosphere of delicious food and community spirit. 

VOLUNTEERING

If you’re interested in volunteering, shifts are generally three hours. You’d get a free local foods t-shirt and free general admission ticket (worth $12), so you too can enjoy the event. Here are some examples of shifts:

• Vendor host - Walk around your section of the exhibition hall and check in with vendors to see if they need anything, tasting and engaging with cool people along the way. (Good for folks who like being in the middle of the action!)

• Bag check attendant / alcohol fulfillment attendant - sit at the table outside of the exhibition hall and help folks either check their full shopping bag so they can go back and get more or exchange attendees alcohol tickets for the respective bottles / cans they purchased in the exhibition hall. (Great for folks who’d prefer more low key support.) 

• Kids activities support - help facilitate fun, food and gardening-focused activities for the kids who come to the event. (Also in the middle of the action, but with kiddos!)
