The 21st Annual Emerging Farmers Conference - Now Accepting Calls for Proposals!

The Emerging Farmers Conference is an experience-based conference designed with farmers, for farmers. EFC equips and empowers participants with tools to build a sustainable farm business with a strong focus on farmers who traditionally face barriers, including immigrant farmers, native farmers, and farmers of color. Submit proposals by May 1, 2026.The Emerging Farmers Conference is an immersive, hands-on learning event. Presentations with interactive elements, live skill demonstrations, and visual components are preferred. We look for sessions led by farmers or co-presented with farmers, prioritizing sessions led by farmers who traditionally face barriers. We also prioritize topics centered around sustainable farming methods.

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday May 1, 2026.

Dates:
Friday November 13 - Saturday Nov 14, 2025 - Brooklyn Center, MN

Session types:
  • 4 hour hands-on intensive workshop with multiple presenters
  • 1.5 hour session, can be one or up to 4 presenters depending on the topic
  • 1 hour long informal conversation around a specific topic

If you or someone you know would like to propose a session and need translation assistance, please contact Big River Farms at (651) 529-1409.  Proposals are also welcome in audio and video format.

Proposals will be compiled and reviewed by the EFC Planning Committee and ranked by 2025 Emerging Farmers Conference Attendees. Proposals that are selected will need to have presenters who are accessible and responsive to the EFC content committee from April to November 2026.
