Scott is seeking a farmer to rent or buy a 0.56 acre urban homestead in the city limits of Fergus Falls. 

There are sixty-six 25’x30” raised beds built with 18” wood chip paths between beds. The front yard is a terraced south-facing slope sized about 20’x100’ with raised beds and mounds for squash. All the beds are prepared for connection to an irrigation system, which is partially installed. There is a tool shed, covered compost bins, a 14'x25' high tunnel, and chain link fence surrounding most of the property. Peach trees, countless native pollinator plants and berry bushes have been planted and tended for 2-4 seasons. 

The property has been under current ownership for the fourth growing season with extensive soil amendments, composting, favoring no-till practices and no application of chemicals. A permit to raise chickens has previously been used. The property includes a newly renovated 4 bedroom/1 bath house with a basement, garage, and deck. The property and community are excellent for raising children on a market garden. A robust Farmer’s Market and indoor winter market, as well as local health foods store/farm-to-table restaurants, herbalists, and public and private schools can support in-town market opportunities.
